Between 25th November and 3rd December, FERIARTE, the International Art and Antiques Fair, will stage a new edition, whilst celebrating its thirtieth anniversary. Throughout its thirty-year existence, FERIARTE has made a strong contribution in terms of fostering an art and antiques culture in Spain.

At its next edition, FERIARTE will once again present an exhibition featuring the very best objets d’art of the past, shaping an essential event for all collectors, interior designers, antique and art-lovers and the public in general, through the participation of some 189 antique-dealers and gallery-owners. Throughout the course of the fair, more than 16,000 unique and high-quality pieces of diverse styles, periods and specialised fields will be placed on direct sale, all dating from at least one hundred years ago, except for styles such as Art Nouveau, Art Deco and the paintings and sculptures of contemporary artists. The extensive and varied exhibition brought together at this edition will include items ranging from furniture, archaeology, paintings (old and contemporary), sculpture, jewellery and watches to religious art, porcelain, lamps, silver, Oriental art, African art, etc. As a new feature, as of this edition, FERIARTE will present 19th and 20th century paintings in the same differentiated section of the fair.

Alongside the high stature of the Spanish antique-dealers and gallery-owners present at the fair, this edition will present a considerable level of international participation, based on the attendance of antique-dealers from Portugal, Germany, Holland, France and Belgium.

The quality parameters that have characterised FERIARTE throughout its history will also be maintained at its 30th anniversary edition. Over several days leading up to the inauguration of the fair, a committee of outstanding experts in various artistic disciplines will be entrusted with reviewing the pieces to be placed on show, checking that their age, quality and degree of restoration all comply with the criteria accepted by the fair.

As is customary, the commercial exhibition at FERIARTE will once again be complemented by an exhibition organised by the Spanish National Museum of Decorative Arts. Specifically, on this occasion, a new theme cycle will commence upon the fair’s thirtieth anniversary, based on a review of the decorative arts of various periods throughout history. The Renaissance will be the style chosen to initiate the new cycle.

FERIARTE will take place in Hall 9 at Feria de Madrid, which can be accessed by the main entrance and by another entrance leading from the car-park. The fair will be open from 12:00 p.m. through to 9:00 p.m. The price of entry to Feriarte is 9 euros and the catalogue can be purchased for 15 euros. For further information: www.feriarte.ifema.es .
