No long ago, the Art and Archaeology World was debating the possible devolution to Peruvian authorities of many Peruvian pieces exhibited in the Yale University Gallery of Art. Now, a new announcement has reinitiated the debate: the Getty Museum has announced his intention of returning to Italy 52 works of art -many of them of exceptional importance to its collections.

So the Getty Centre is already part of the large list of Museums (Metropolitan of New York, British Museum of London , Michael C. Carlos of Atlanta.) that have been forced to return a substantial part of its collections to the country of origin -Italy, Greece, Egypt.- of the pieces.

Worrying times for the western Museums, and potentially disastrous for the antiquities market, whose usual buyers could now take the decision of investing in less risky fields.
