Legendary Laguna Beach Festival Seeking New Artists

Legendary Laguna Beach Festival Seeking New Artists

January 4, 2007 – Laguna Beach, California – The Art-A-Fair Festival, held annually in Laguna Beach for the past 40 years, is seeking new artists for its 2007 season. The show will run ten weeks — from June 29 to September 2, 2007.

One of three premier art shows held each summer in this seaside community, the Art-a-Fair is the only one that exhibits not only national, but international artists. The Art-A-Fair is also known for the high quality of art and master crafts among its approximately 125 participants. The jury day is Sunday, February 11. Artists who wish to be considered are invited to submit work for jurying either in person on that day, or by mail. Mail submissions are due by Jan. 20. Every art form is represented at the show, including oil paintings, watercolors, acrylics, drawings, photography, sculpture, jewelry, glass and wood. Nestled in a beautiful garden setting in Laguna Canyon, the Art-A-Fair also features live entertainment, fine food, demonstrations and workshops. The atmosphere is lively and vibrant rather than the staid environment of a gallery or museum. Patrons look forward to meeting the artist exhibitors, either casually in their booths or at demonstrations or lectures. Once again, over 60,000 visitors to the festival are expected.

Laguna Beach is known for its rich history of art and artists dating back to the early 1900’s, when famed California plein air painter William Wendt opened its first gallery. Performing arts have also been prominent in Laguna and the well-respected Laguna Playhouse opened in 1920. Thousands of visitors from around the globe annually flock to Laguna to enjoy this artistic atmosphere, as well as to enjoy the beautiful beaches, quaint village atmosphere, galleries and fine restaurants. Laguna also offers world-class resorts such as The Montage Resort & Spa, St. Regis Hotel and The Ritz Carlton.
